ILLUSTRATED KINGDOM PARABLES
HYGGE
KINGDOM
Paradise through a designer’s lens
BOOK
Project # 40
Lead: PW & ST
Who in their right mind would want a book written by a severely dyslexic man who can barely read—and hasn’t finished a book with his own eyes since first grade? Turns out, quite a few. Hygge Kingdom is just that—a beautifully illustrated collection of 100 parables designed to create a safe and welcoming space for anyone curious about the principles of God’s Kingdom.
Imagine being lost in a freezing blizzard, only to stumble upon a glowing cabin in the woods. As the door swings open, a loving family welcomes you in with hot tea and a warm blanket by the fire. That feeling—of comfort, belonging, and discovery—is what these parables offer. Much like the stories Jesus told, they invite readers to explore deeper truths at their own pace, free from pressure or pretense.
Parker Wonser, an industrial designer, never set out to write a book. But as he sketched parables in his journal during morning devotions, the Kingdom of Heaven began to take shape in vivid illustrations and relatable stories. Now, these once-private reflections come to life in Hygge Kingdom, offering a fresh, modern way to share God’s love. Stephen Teague drew the beautiful illustrations in the final book.
Set to be published in mid-2025, Hygge Kingdom will be available to those who subscribe to the Wonser Park newsletter for early access and release updates. A portion of each book sale will support individuals who lack the financial resources to disciple others like Jesus did.
So, get cozy, pour yourself a cup of tea, and prepare to embark on a journey to know God in a deeper, more meaningful way.
